Rising star Yannick Nzet-Sguin has already made an enormous impression with his interpretation of Mahler - ‘so poignant it is guaranteed to make you cry’, according to Dutch daily newspaper the Volkskrant. "Resurrection" was the title Mahler gave to his majestic Second Symphony.

The music paints a staggering vision of life after devastation and, accordingly, the symphony ends with a glorious conquest over death, with Sterben werd' ich um zu leben as its climax. Mahler pulls out all the stops: "Aufersteh’n, ja aufersteh’n wirst du".
